Romance Journal is a publication devoted to exploring truth and raising our collective consciousness. Delving into personal trials and global challenges, each themed issue explores human experiences through the eyes of powerful and thoughtful artists and leaders. Issue 03: Creation breaks new ground with a lineup of true creative forces — women whose honesty and openness helped us create an issue full of wisdom, self-reflection, and divine feminine power.

Art Direction
Each feature is accompanied by an exquisite Loie Hollowell painting that reflects the inner world of the female body. The images evoke anatomical landscapes and sacred iconography, using geometric shapes to move a figure or its actions into abstraction. We also art-directed photographers Bjarne x Takata, Jens Ingvarsson, and KT Auleta to produce lush portraits of the featured women, shot in various locations in New York, Los Angeles, and Mexico City.
Gucci Partnership
This issue includes an exclusive collaboration with Gucci, the powerhouse fashion label which celebrates creativity, individuality, and diversity. In place of traditional advertising, The Romance Journal team dressed each featured subject in Gucci's most recent collection, and also created an interactive feature in collaboration with UK-based artist Alex Merry: a centerfold with four “Gucci Goddesses” on perforated cards that can be torn out and used as an archetypal guide. The issue also includes a pair of “Lens of Creation” Gucci sunglasses — paper diffraction glasses that the reader can remove and wear to enhance their next great vision.
Featured Stories
Each person featured in this issue creates and leads in their own unique way, fueled by a desire to create an antidote to the establishment, to express themselves fully, and to use this influence to empower others. Notable subjects include model-turned-activist Christy Turlington Burns, Grammy Award–winning musician Lykke Li, health educator and author Erica Chidi Cohen, Pace Gallery artist Loie Hollowell, and wellness guru Sophia Roe. In intimate conversations, they speak honestly about the courage needed to tap into and express their inner worlds.
Web Design
The publication is available for purchase at select bookstores worldwide, as well as on the Romance Journal website, where 100% of the proceeds are donated to non-profit organizations.
